1. Think in Storytelling Poses, Not Frames
Find the 5 key poses (Start → Anticipation → Action → Reaction → Settle). Those are the beats the audience remembers.
2. Pose Clarity = Animation Clarity
If your pose doesn’t read in silhouette, your action won’t read. Strong, clear poses = strong storytelling.
3. Energy Always Transfers
Show where energy goes (into the ground, body, or secondary motion). Nothing just “stops.”
4. Exaggeration is Your Friend
Push anticipations deeper, actions stronger, and reactions heavier. Real life is too subtle—animation needs contrast.
5. Keep Characters Alive in Settles
Add breathing, eye darts, and micro-shifts. Never freeze your character.
6. Observe → Simplify → Push
Study real people → strip down to essentials → exaggerate for clarity. Realism is reference; animation is storytelling.
7. Rhythm Over Perfection
Movement is about beats and timing, not detailed perfection. If the rhythm feels right, the audience will believe it.
8. Trust the 5 Keys
When lost, return to the universal formula: Start → Anticipation → Action → Reaction → Settle. It applies to every action, every shot, and every style.
My Final Note: “Every pose has a purpose. Every movement is a thought. Animate intention, not just motion—and the audience will feel it.”
